McLeod Wood Associates Inc. has extensive experience in the transmission sector in Ontario. Our firm was part of the initial project development team for a First Nations owned transmission company, and assisted in the project development process all the way from the initial studies through to operations and management of this 270km high voltage line. MWA Inc. continues to have strong ties with the company, and has provided advice on operations, human resources, personnel policies, business planning, and communications support. The experience of developing the project gave our firm a considerable knowledge of the energy sector, and our advisors remain highly-knowledgeable about industry trends.

McLeod Wood Associates Inc. remains involved in the energy transmission sector by providing assistance to a major transmission company in Ontario on expansion and new construction opportunities. MWA Inc. assists the company in aboriginal engagement through the faciliation of meetings with First Nations communities across Ontario, relationship development, preparing research and other documentation, and assisting with the development of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and Letters of Intent (LOIs).

McLeod Wood Associates Inc. has also been involved in various research on transmission, including providing advice and analysis on the potential impact on First Nations and the business case for transmission in Ontario's remote communities.
