Winter Roads

McLeod Wood Associates Inc. provided advice and assistance in the development of a corporation owned by three First Nations in Northern Ontario. The corporation operates and manages an annual winter road on behalf of the three communities, providing their only link to the Ontario rail system.

MWA Inc. assisted in the initial development, and continues to provide administrative and communications support to the corporation. This includes human resources, newsletters, book-keeping, and liaison services with road stakeholders, including a major industrial road user. Our firm also provides annual project management assistance throughout the Winter Road season.

The continuing success of the winter road is evidence of our firm's commitment to working towards the creation of sustainable enterprises that benefit aboriginal communities in Ontario.
