Dave Kielstra, M.A.

Dave Kielstra brings significant writing and research experience to the McLeod Wood Associates Inc. team. Dave's academic background in History and Geography gives him an impressive knowledge of recent trends and legislation related to First Nations and environmental issues. Specialized courses including Environmental Resource Management and Development and the Environment provide the knowledge required for understanding the Environmental Assessment and stakeholder consultation processes.

Dave is adept at locating and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data. Dave has extensive archival research experience using government and academic sources to present extensively researched materials. His research and writing has been featured in conference presentations and academic publications, including a recent book published through Wilfrid Laurier University Press.

Dave has three years of field work experience with Archaeologix Inc., an archaeology consulting firm that worked closely with developers and First Nations on sensitive dig sites. In this role, Dave worked alongside First Nations site monitors throughout Southern Ontario to engage them in the archaeological process and improve transparency when artifacts were found.

Dave's specialized research skills including a recently completed statistics course, as well as oral interview expertise with veterans and community groups that led to the creation of historical reports. These skills further enhance his analytical capacity.

At McLeod Wood Associates Inc., Dave provides support to other advisors and works directly with clients on a variety of issues.
